#1226 - Richmond Bridge & Mt. Mansfield

from 255.00

Originally built in 1929, the Checkered House Bridge in Richmond, VT was a marvel of its time. It was a so-called Pennsylvania truss bridge built two years after an epic flood washed out a covered bridge at the site. In 2012-2013 the bridge was cut in half lengthwise, separated, rebuilt and reconnected. It's a man-made beauty set against Mt. Mansfield, the highest mountain in Vermont with a summit that peaks at 4,395 feet above sea level.
